71 hours of building and several Bricklink orders over the course of about 3 months.

Props to Brian Cooper, without whose Teknomeka frame this wouldn't have been possible.

Special thanks to my wife, who assisted me during the photo shoot.

    I love you, Mark Sandlin.

If I had to give a point of criticism, I'd have to say the waist (the grey area at the belt) looks a bit too thin. Perhaps I'm wrong, but in my mind's eye my toy version of Voltron had a wider waist. But that's a minor nit pick, really, it's an incredible model.

    that is brilliant, fantastic work
  • tpcowan 6y

Oh, this brings back memories. Absolutely fantastic... and flipping huge. Thank you for making my day.

    Uh huh.
  • eszx 6y

Bravo! Again, a LEGO model that should never be taken apart for couple years.... even if you need a part from it for another model. :)

*carefully searches the other posts* .... uh.... DIBS!!!
  • Mark Sandlin 6y

Thanks for all the props everyone. It's funny, I was originally going to just build a standard Teknomeka frame and skin it to look like Voltron, but Chris started giving me crap asking "Hey does it transform?", so I actually started putting serious thought toward it, and it worked out.

Sometimes friends talking smack about something can make your MOC better. :)

Iconic. You, sir, are my hero of the day, quite possibly the week. Ahhh heck, we both know I am going to remember this build forever <3

Kanye West blogged about this. Google- Kanye West voltron

Just so everyone knows, I listen to classical and viking metal music not Kanye West. \m/ :P \m/
  • jon 6y

hey ceramite, you can listen to more than one type of music! you can listen to your Viking metal AND hip hop. wow! music is cool! not as cool as voltron, though. pass that blunt, voltron.
  • Mark Sandlin 6y

    I built Voltron

Voltron was blogged by Kanye West

Kanye West was in State Property 2 with Tim House

Tim House was in In The Cut with Kevin Bacon

    That works, right?
  • ceramite 6y

@jonpalmer hahahah yep, like I said I listen to classical AND viking metal (implying more than one). I save Kanye West for when i'm menstruating. ;)

@Grand Admiral, The reason I posted that was because the way he trimmed your description it kind of seems like he proclaimed to make it. And four to Kevin Bacon, WIN!! :)

How different things would have been if Kanye had climbed on stage to say that the Lego Voltron was cooler than any music video he had ever seen...

This happened in an alternate reality. Things got pretty weird. People were soon *eating* kittens (battered on a stick) and wearing Lego as clothing. I was there to witness all this, then left and came to this reality to escape. ;-)
  • Mark Sandlin 6y

Kittens are delicious and high in essential nutrients.
  • klaupacius 6y

Ah, it was you then, in the other reality. Now I see how it started.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Voltron Force at the BrickCon!
(You don't need to demonstrate the lions combining, just rerun prior footage over and over and over again. ;-)
  • Mark Sandlin 6y

Awesome, glad to hear you'll be there!
  • Kazukiyo 5y

I need to fav it again! I'm a super robot fanatic, and you sir have made me crap bricks! (Which may solve my shortage of LEGOs.)
