As I walked down King Street (the main drag in downtown St Augustine, Florida) this evening, I heard a flock of birds rustling amongst a couple of palm trees and chirping excitedly at one another. I don't recall ever coming across so many birds in such few trees at once -- certainly not here. The fluttering and chattering reminded me of the zebra finches that we had when I was growing up.
I did not have enough daylight to capture the birds in the trees. This fella paused on a palmetto frond long enough for me to snap a photo.
Can anyone identify the species?
