To Every Season Tern Tern Tern
Explore #151..thanks for the visits and comments and faves .. all!
I went to Bolsa Chica Wetlands yesterday after work..."terns" out, there were hundreds of birds hanging out on the island that is just below the overlook after the bridge part.. Terns, gulls, pelicans, long-billed cerlews, double-crested cormorants, egrets, avocets, ducks..just to name a few..every so often, the birds would suddenly rise up and take flight..these are the terns...their mating season has begun..it was such a wondrous vision to behold..I don't quite think this picture does the actual experience of being there justice...but I tried to capture the essence of the beauty as best I could..;-D I have cropped versions to bring in the birds closer..but that seemed to take away from the actual experience of their flight..so I am posting the only slightly cropped, SOOC version instead...I, of course, have several hundred images..and many with a mixture of the different types of birds flying and/or hanging out and napping, feeding, playing together..so you might see a few more shots...from here soon...;-D It was really such an awe-inspiring afternoon for me. Have a Happy Feathery Friday my friends...
To really appreciate the image, it must be viewed large..if you have time..if not..no worries..;-D thanks for all your support as always .. I have the best Flickr friends !
