Coyote Dad

Newer Older

This not-so-benevolent-stare is from the dad of the coyote pups. He was babysitting this morning. Mom must have needed a break.

Thanks everyone for your views, comments and faves. The coyotes have been kind to me; this is the third family photo to make it into the hallowed halls of "Explore" in the past few weeks. Amazing to me!!

Ned: , I'd like to take some credit for the angle here, but I was sitting in the street in my golf cart and we looked up to our left and there he was, standing on a hill behind a bunker at the 17th green so I just aimed and fired. He just sneered and left shortly thereafter. :-)

I couple of years ago I read an article that discussed just how amazing coyotes can be. Unlike most species, they help care for each others young within the group. They can work independently and also hunt in groups. They are extraordinarily adaptive to their environment too. Perfect desert dwellers.
