Yosemite Valley - Tunnel View
National Parks Day in Yosemite Valley. It was a beautiful lightly cloud covered day... and I was hopeful of getting some nice photographs. We gave a $20 donation on our way into the park, notwithstanding that park entrance was free on this day.... ( I can't help but support these parks and hope they will still be readily accessible when my grandkids get old enough to appreciate them). Suddenly the sound of thunder broke out across the Valley and within 15 minutes a downpour of rain and lightning like I have not experienced in several years commenced... lasting for more than an hour. We spent the whole time stuck under the entrance canopy to the Village store, primarily because we were not prepared for such weather and the store closed and evacuated due to their roof leaking like a river into the store :)
Needless to say.... after a few hours the storm passed and we finally got to enjoy some nice cool weather and photo ops at the park. This is one of the shots i was able to take following our wet experience earlier in the day.
Thanks to those of you who view my photos. Please feel free to comment as your feedback is always appreciated. Have a great week!
