Looking Into The Past - Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road

    Prev Next

Dubai in the 60s and about 2008. I put these together from a slideshow I was sent as I didn't think I could get access to this building to take my own shot, although I do work in the left foreground building about once a year.

I have witnessed the incredible changes in Dubai during visits over the past 14 or so years. It really is quite jaw-droppingly unbelievable.

The tall building you can just see at the back left side with the red lights on top is the Burj Khalifa Tower (World's tallest building) under construction.

Well done! I love this -- what a great shot. It's amazing to think that this area was desert and now it's a bustling city. I love how the overlay really demonstrates this. Well done, I love it!

      Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

I just made special arrangements to gain access to the building these pics were taken from so that I could have a really up to date image, but I have had fly home from Dubai today - maybe next time.

I've seen the changes in Vegas too, and I'm sure there must similar pics available somewhere, possibly taken from Ceasars Palace as that is about the only building that has survived over time in the same place.
