locked in love

The TV tower in Hiratsuka on Shonandaira - the biggest mountain round here. It is a not-so-well-known tradition to go there with a padlock on which you write the your name and that of your loved on on it and clip it onto the tower.

 

Every few years the council clears off the locks - but they soon return.

 

Here some couples have managed to make a heart pattern. The dates on the locks are all different.

 

One suspects in most cases the locks survive longer than the love....
