Dead Sea from the western slopes of Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo, or Jebel Siyagha, is the summit where Moses saw the promised land. It rises to 700m above sea level but the bottom of the mountain is beside the Dead Sea at 400m below sea level, 13km away.

Mount Nebo has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries and various churches and monasteries were built there.
