King Cardinal

Male Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis). America's most popular songbird, honored as the state bird in seven different states.

 

The cardinal benefits from park-like urban habitats and the presence of bird feeders. This one is taking advantage of some seeds spread by some kind soul in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks.

 

Thank you everyone for your nice comments on my cardinal. :) This is one of my favorite shots, ever, even though as usual my Raynaud's inflicted fingers didn't want to cooperate. :)
