The Hill Job highballs McCloud

McCloud River SD38-2 No.39 shoves on the rear of the Hill Job as it departs McCloud, California. The train is going to the Southern Pacific interchange at Mount Shasta City.

The trackage and the locomotive are still with us in 2020. The scenic line over Snowmans Hill between McCloud and Mount Shasta City is the only portion of the McCloud River Railroad that has not been dismantled. Although intact, it is not in service. After a 1997 sale, the MR 39 soldiers on for Union Pacific as UPY 824.
