St. Louis Cathedral at Jackson Square, French Quarter #1 wide view

Another New Orleans French Quarter landmark is Jackson Square. A gathering place for artists, street performers and tourists. Named after the hero of the battle of New Orleans against the British - General Andrew Jackson whose statue is right in the middle of the park. St. Louis Cathedral towers over the Square. It is the oldest still functioning church in the country founded in 1720.
