Armide in the Limelight
When I was taking photos of Armide last week, it struck me as one of the most beautiful shows I have ever seen. The staging and dancing in this French baroque opera are superb and the costumes, sets and lighting enhance this. This inspired me to try some unconventional angles with this show. This one turned out to be one of the best. I took it from one of the lighting positions on the side of the stage. I like how it shows the lights shining down on Armide (Peggy Kriha Dye) and Renaud (Colin Ainsworth) while they are embracing. That blue rectangle on the lower right is one of the monitors used so the singers can see the conductor.
