Laying the Marley

    Newer Older

The crew today is loading in Armide and part of that involves laying the marley floor. Marley is a heavy vinyl that is used for dance floors. It is laid over the stage and it gives dancers a better grip on the stage. The marley comes in rolled up strips, which needs to be unrolled and stretched. Next the crew needs to apply the vinyl tape to the bottom of some of the marley, which will be used to keep the wide strips of marley together through all the dancing. This is what you see them doing here. I like how the tape directs your attention to all the stage ops folding the marley over.
