Elephants have invaded the Festival! Not real ones though; these ones are made of willow and grape vines, with a rebar skeleton underneath. The mother and baby elephant will be residing on our southwest lawn during the season. Elizabeth Schoonmaker made the elephants from late March until today, only taking three days off. I really like this photo since it emphasizes the form of the sculpture, with the texture of the surface taking priority from the out-of-focus background of the trees.
