Degree Show 2011
Welcome to The Glasgow School of Art's Degree Show 2011 online, a preview of the annual exhibition of work by the final year undergraduate and postgraduate students from the schools of Architecture, Design and Fine Art.
The Glasgow School of Art is an international creative community, one of Europe’s leading higher education institutions for visual disciplines. Over 20,000 visitors join us annually for the Degree Show – one of the UK’s largest. Here online, for the first time shared via Flickr, you can experience a taste of just some of the work on offer from across our specialisms of fine art, design and architecture.
Each year some 300 final year undergraduate and postgraduate students challenge and delight us with their innovation, insight, rigour and craft displayed at Degree Show. We hope that you’ll join us in person during 11-18 June to experience, in context, the full breadth of what the Degree Show has to offer.
This year there’s a very special reason to attend as this will be the last year that the Degree Show takes place in the Foulis Building and Newbery Tower. At the end of the show they will be demolished to make way for a major new building, designed by Steven Holl Architects, which will open in 2013. As well as the delight in visiting the magnificent studios of the renowned Mackintosh Building, a visit to those buildings opposite will have a particular poignance.
I do hope you'll join us.
