Archer turns five next month. He looks so massive, here. Like a Great Dane puppy

That transition from 4 to 5 was a tough one. Its the year they start school-school; I dreaded Caedon's first day of school from the day he was born. They just seem more grown up all of a sudden.

It's very hard. Archer starts kindergarten this fall and it's blowing my mind. He's also talking like someone who is on my level, or even above me. I feel like I'm talking up to him, now, when two years ago? He wasn't even able to say my name. It's wild, this life, isn't it?

the pictures of them change too. Caedon had a project, one picture for every year (yeah, not so easy to narrow them all down!) and the biggest transformation was the 4 to 5 gap. he just stopped looking like a kid and more like a boy, ya know?
Its like each time they get a hair-cut they look more and more grown-up. sometimes you just want it to stop but other times you're excited for all the new stuff.
Parenting is like getting hugged and punched in the heart at the same time.
