Dragon Pavilion and White Dagoba

The Five Dragon Pavilions in Beijing's Bei Hai Park are marvels of color and detail. These pavilions overlook the lake and face the White Dagoba, a Tibetan-style stupa built to honor the visit of the Dalai Lama in 1651 and rebuilt twice since then. Bei Hai Park was the first of the wonderful Beijing parks that I visited and I was completely overwhelmed by the exotic beauty of this place. I returned to my hotel exhausted but delighted.
