Golden Moments....Handmade Borosilicate Lampwork Sculptural Leaf Pendant

This gorgeous borosilicate lampwork leaf pendant is lovingly handmade by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio using a light yellow borosilicate (boro, aka Pyrex) base, a custom frit blend of oranges, topaz, and browns, then sculpted into a textured leaf.

Be sure to click on the images to see them fully.

This lovely leaf pendant measures 58 x 28mm and the loop will accommodate up to a 5mm cord, chain, or beaded necklace.

Boro (borosilicate) glass is very different from Italian and German soft glass. The colours are mysterious, shifting with the light, and subtle/natural in tone. They really come alive in sunlight.

My photos are taken indoors in a light box with natural lighting and a macro lens. The pictures have been enlarged so please check the size of the bead. I have not enhanced the colours with photo-editing but keep in mind monitors can show colours differently.

All my pieces go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. Please remember that they are made of glass though, and can break if dropped or knocked against something hard.

I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
