in process (wet paint)

I used Amanda Vissell's tiki bird painting as inspiration. The bird is made of red felt, sewn in a simple stitch (by hand). The wings, tail feathers, and eye (round part) are painted with red glitter puffy paint. The beak and eye are puffy paint as well. A wire armiture is sewn into the body and wrapped around the bamboo to hold the bird upright. The bamboo circle is a bracelet made from a single piece of bamboo. The shell was found at Huntington Beach. I glued it to a small thread and hung it under the bird, like the nameplates that the Tiki Room birds have. I couldn't get the text right, so I left the shell blank, although according to the Vissell painting, the red parrot is Fritz.

Bracelet measures approx. 4" and bird is approx. 3".
