Coppersmith Barbet

Wooooohoooo. This is the 100th bird species that I have photographed since I started birding last year with a long lens. Glad I was able to nail this before the year ends. :)

Locals used to call this bird "pok pok" in reference to their calls. They are sometimes noisy in the forest and you would hear them "pok pok pok pok" for minutes. They sound like a coppersmith hitting metal with a hammer in regular intervals like a metronome. They are fruit-eating birds and you would see them in the company of Bulbuls.
