4th Annual Go Green Schools Symposium
On April 13th, 2012 Governor Quinn proclaimed April "Earth Month" in Illinois at the 4th Annual Go Green Schools Symposium.

The Governor also took the opportunity to recognize three Illinois public schools which were nominated for a new U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools award program. The federal program honors exemplary achievement in environmental impact, student and staff health and the environmental literacy of graduates.

The Go Green Schools Symposium is hosted by the Illinois Green Governments Coordinating Council in partnership with the Chicago Public Schools and Seven Generations Ahead. It features presentations from local, state, and federal policy-makers, educators, green businesses and non-profits. This year's symposium was held at Eric Solorio Academy High School in Chicago's southwest Gage Park neighborhood.
