Malmaison Iberico

Good looking food deserves a good looking photograph. With this in mind, I borrowed my friend Juhani's starter of cured Iberico ham, which he informed me is sourced from a specially bred black Iberian pig. It's topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano. We were having lunch at Malmaison Oxford, taking advantage of my Gourmet Society card that gives 2 for 1 meals at a range of restaurants.


I didn't want to deprive him from his delicious food for long, so I just took a single photo. This is it. To bring out the gorgeous texture, I bounced light from my Nikon SB-600 flash (triggered by on camera CLS) off my cloth napkin which was draped over a bottle of olive oil to camera right. Quick, easy, effective.
