Dying of Neglect
At one time, this grand Queen Anne home was the primary location for a local funeral home. In later years, the business moved to the less urban areas of the city where there were more perspective "customers". Originally, I seem to recall a newspaper article that said the home was designed and built for one of Columbia's early prominent families. I could not verify the family name.
Update: This property was bought by the University of South Carolina for their Children's Law Center. The building has had a complete restoration, inside and out. I am thankful that its potential was realized.
