My attempt at Akira Yoshizawa's Sunflower

    Prev Next

I tried to reverse engineer this model from a photo on the internet and apparently the big petals have several non-referenced creases which in my hands would be a total disaster, that is why I opted for this simplified, more angled, less organic version.

Folded from a square of 20 cm on the side of copy paper.

Thanks for bringing to attention! I'm going to try REing too.

Cool, it is not difficult and of course if you run into trouble, just ask me.

And if you want to aim for the original, check it at: ori500.free.fr/sorted/plants_e_flowers/flowers/en.htm

I was able to do it easily! The back is different from yours, so I must have a different method. All I did was modify my Rudbeckia with some squashes at the back to get the extra 8 petals. Please look at the bottom flower of www.flickr.com/photos/mmukhopadhyay/9448256236/in/set-721...
I also did a color change version! I will post pics later...

You're pretty good and I hope to see the color change version soon.
