River Tay & Swans Gloaming
Our holiday in Perth last week had a mixture of weather types from brilliant sun to snow, but it was always picturesque. This was taken about a mile from the city centre on the River Tay. I took one picture with my Nikon D300s exposing for the spectacular gloaming left after a magnificent sunset, then angled the tripod down to expose for the much darker river. Then it was just a matter of waiting for the two obliging swans to glide in a stately fashion to provide a compositional lead-in. Later I combined the two images using panorama-stitching software.
