Sea Storm #9
This is the last one of the series - ran out of steam at this point (home to bed zzzz).
Taken in Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia.
For those who missed the previous photos here's the context:
I photographed this storm from midnight to 4am. I've never actually watched a storm before. This one was about 10kms out to sea, and from where I was watching on the cliff tops it was dry and perfectly calm - quite eery in fact. The storm hardly moved the whole time I tracked it but the changes in mood, intensity and colour over this period were astonishing. I couldn't believe I was witnessing something as beautiful as the lightshow that the storm turned on.. About 3am some fishermen climbed up the cliff from where they'd been fishing below so it was great to be able to share the spectacle with them for a while before they went home. This was one of the most memorable nights of my life.
