Sea Storm #4

Best viewed large. Looking along the cliffs down the coast. The storm is off to the left and if you look closely you can see two bolts of lightning near the left-hand edge. Also some stars right at the top edge. The white in the water is lightning-lit sea froth from the waves breaking against the cliffs. The orange glow is a city to the south.

For those who missed previous shots here is the context:

I photographed this storm from midnight to 4am. I've never actually watched a storm before. This one was about 10kms out to sea, and from where I was watching on the cliff tops it was dry and perfectly calm - quite eery in fact. The storm hardly moved the whole time I tracked it but the changes in mood, intensity and colour over this period were astonishing. I couldn't believe I was witnessing something as beautiful as the lightshow that the storm turned on.. About 3am some fishermen climbed up the cliff from where they'd been fishing below so it was great to be able to share the spectacle with them for a while before they went home. This was one of the most memorable nights of my life. Lots more pics to come.
