All eggs in one basket

Yet another wonderful gift by Margie: A big batch of wooden eggs! I painted one today in blues. I used acrylic inks and sealed it with spoon oil. Thank you my dear friend.

We use these as 'dummy' eggs out in the chicken coop, putting them in the nesting boxes when the hens start laying all over the place, to guide them back to laying in the boxes again. Sometimes we accidentally gather them along with the real ones.
Also, the Easter bunny would leave the boys one of these each year for them to paint.

I have seen them used by my grandmother for mending socks.
I didn't know about this original use. When, during a corse at my company, i was asked to bring an object representing myself i brought one of them to represent my "mending" attitude. Is these any further use?
