Spider at lunch - Araneus diadematus

    This shot is actually an HDR image. 3 images were shot using auto-bracketing (Canon EOS 400D, that's the max allowed with this camera). I should have taken more but as the wind blew and the spider moved its legs, I didn't manage that.

      Nice close-up. I've had one of these outside my kitchen window for a couple of weeks now. Because it is on the other side of the glass I can get VERY close. Now that I know she is a female I guess I better give her a name! BTW, I'm in Northern California.
