the colour doesn't do it for me - and the angle reminds me of oxfam photos of kids with big heads and sad eyes - maybe if you'd dropped down to his level? ditch4 (I think Kees Verwers was a ditch3?)

This is great, great pose and good POV, The B&W is great, but that selective colour is something I find hard to like, the image does not need it, as pure B&W it stands alone as a class shot without a cheap trick. That said, I love your shots from these African cities, theya are beguiling.
      keep 2

i lived in bamako for 6 months with a broken camera, so would vote for this in a flash. however, i don't get on with those b&w/colour mixes. keep it one or the other. thanks for the memory, but ditch 6 for the can.

This says candid portraiture more than street to me. Too much eye contact, too much attention drawn to the can, for no apparent reason, and the wide angle doesn't add anything. Ditch.

no selective color, thank you. why are the streets so empty? nice pic, not enough back story for me...so no.

Love the eyeball, It is freaking engaging, but bad idea on the can, it draws all energy.ditch

The can is distracting. The black and white version is much better.
      ditch.

selective color is bad. such a wide angle makes the kids head look huge. ditch 9

The selective color makes the photo feel strange. The can draws attention away from the kid. Ditch.
