Whoaa Star Trails (And the Dolly!)
We spent the final night of the übertrip at Natural Bridges National Monument. We decided to film at Owachomo Natural Bridge, which is the most easily accessible (only a 1/4 mile hike) of the bridges. Right around sunset the sky completely clouded over, which caused some concern, but shortly after that it cleared. We set up every camera we had.
I put a CTO gel on my headlamp and pointed it at the arch to provide a small amount of light. I set up my 5D2 on the other side of the arch from this photo with a 24 f/1.4 to film the Milky Way. I had borrowed a T2i for the trip, and I pointed it at the north star and ran it on my dolly. My ancient Rebel XT (70,000 photos and still working great) was the final remaining camera, and I set it up to produce this image. This is a stack of 124 1-minute exposures.
