Galapagos At One Fathom
Schools of these sardine-like fish were everywhere, flashing like paparazzi at a fashion shoot. The fish turn on their sides reflecting sunlight upward towards the blue-footed Boobys soaring above, their signal to attack. In effect, they invite their own demise. Strange. I wanted to catch a booby under water, but later read that the attack tended to attract sharks. Still would have liked to have witnessed it. I believe we were just off of Rabida Island when I shot this, the start of an amazing week for us.
