European Security Seminar 19-13
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (June 10, 2019) – The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies is hosting the European Security Seminar – East June 10 to 14. This year’s ESS-East is titled “Screening Countermeasures to fight Security Challenges in Europe and Europe’s Eastern Flank.” This one week long seminar is held for the fourth time. It was designed to examine and analyze a major recurrent matter on the European and Euro-Atlantic security agenda. In 2016, the ESS-East addressed broader security issues related to Europe’s Eastern flank. In 2017 it dealt with hybrid warfare and resilience-building. Last year, it featured strategic communication. This year’s ESS-E will take place from June 10 to 14, 2019 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. ESS-E 19-13 aims to examine more than the current security environment in Europe and Eurasia. It wishes to elaborate the various responses taken by actors from the international community to counter hybrid warfare measures by Russia.
