Day 2|366 - Alex, with bokeh (or bokeh with Alex?!)

3|1|2012

----------------------

I am part of a PhotoClub in the city where I live and yesterday evening we met in the city centre to have a good photographic night together with the other members who applied for the shooting evening.

We met up at 7.30 PM and as you might expect when you're in a group of photog, you can't shoot a picture 'cause when the theme is forced it's a no no. So we started separating from each other in order to take some pics and then we would have met together after an hour or so to have a drink. Thank god I brought with me a flash (although it drove me crazy, totally...wish I had my strobes with me, at least one with the battery but weight would have been an issue).

I started to shoot crazy with the speedlite and an umbrella...then, gods of flashes went all against me and boom it died...forget it...started shooting a portrait style I had on my mind for quite a while with the 50mm 1.2. all wide open focused either on the nose or eyes for a crazy effect. I took some and I'm very happy of them.

This is one of many, he's my "new" friend Alex, who's a Leica photog (even if very young). He's eeeextreeemely talented with it (has a M3 btw) and even if so young he shoots only with film, crazy good. So I decided to take a pic of him who actually sits almost 100% of his time behind the camera.

More might come of this portrait session as well as a few fashion (flash) style photos I took before the speedlite died on me

Hope you enjoy

CC are very welcome

Cheers
