Ending polio in Afghanistan

Mothers wait with the children to be vaccinated at the Belandghar Comprehensive Health Centre. Last year there were eighteen confirmed cases of polio in Afghanistan, all of which are suspected to have come from Pakistan, reminding us that polio anywhere is a threat everywhere. (Nangahar, Afghanistan, 2011)
