Koloman Moser - Frauenkopf Ver Sacrum 1899

View large www.flickr.com/photos/gargantuansound/5629734448/sizes/l/...

Koloman Moser's allegorical Frauenkopf (head of a woman) design for the Ver Sacrum (The Rite of Spring/Sacred Spring) magazine, 1899. This was the stamp on the cover of the first Ver Sacrum folio.

The initial ink sketch is on the right. The actual stamp (left) also included the emblem of the Vienna Secession movement in the left, right & bottom of the design.

Have a look at Matti Moretti's fabulous photostream with many photographs from Ver Sacrum & more www.flickr.com/photos/lineae/sets/72157609192566547/
