Gatton Hall 10K Run - July 2011 - Leonberger and Family Candid
Beautiful tall blonde woman with her two sons and huge Leonberger dog talk to another member of the crowd attending the Gatton Hall 10K run near Redhill in Surrey.
If the dog is giving the misleading impression that he is wonderfully well behaved please don't be fooled. As he spotted my little Bichon, Button, from half way across the sports field he proceeded to drag the Mother and eldest son until he reached us. I feared for poor Button's life so I picked him up at which point I feared for my life as well. He put his paws on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes (well the top of my head, actually) so I put my dog down and pleaded with it to be gentle. Thankfully it was and he survived the ordeal. This Leonberger, no I hadn't heard of them either, was so large and intimidating that my randy boy, Button, did not even attempt to mount it. Sad really as that would have been a sight to see. Equally thankfully the Leonberger did not try it on with Button or me. Small mercies gratefully accepted.
