Shoreditch Street Art - June 2017 - The Gruesome Twosome - The Evil Eye
Things have been on the up for Shoreditch since TFL (Transport for London) took over 5 almost derelict railway lines around the city and created the 'London Overground' which circles the city rather like the M25 motorway. Opened about 7 years ago I had never heard of it until we decided to visit the nearby Geffrye Museum and it came as a great surprise to find we could get back to Clapham Junction on a fast modern train. It opens up all sorts of possibilities for seeing parts of London I hadn't thought of visiting before.
Shoreditch was once the poorest part of London infamous for its filth, poor housing and infant mortality but now it is a buzzing young community where city workers can just about afford to rent a property. As you can see some parts still need a bit of tarting-up a bit but the old buildings do provide a suitable canvass for some talented artists. I thought these brats were quite special even though the girl looks really menacing.
