'Great Moments in History' - Sculpted in Sand
Part of an exhibition of sand sculptures on display at the Frankston Waterfront, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Depicted are people, places and events that have changed the course of history. Above is a detail of the sculpture representing Egyptian civilization. The sand used is 'heavy sand.' Each grain is square and sticks together better than the rounded grains of beach sand. Nothing is added to the sand apart from water although the finished sculptures are sprayed with a biodegradable spray to make them water resistant.
