Guard Retires Cargo Workhorse

CLAY NATIONAL GUARD CENTER, Marietta, Ga., June 25, 2013 – Soldiers and citizens gathered at Clay National Guard Center to say goodbye to the C-23 Sherpa and honor the Georgia National Guardsmen who crewed it. The C-23 is the Army’s only Cargo Airplane and has been flown exclusively by National Guardsmen.

1st Sgt. Jeff Earhart, Chief Warrant Officer Blake Hausler, Cpt. Joseph Parker, Maj. Barry Simmons, Lt. Col. John Boyer, Col. Kevin Berkman, and Sgt. 1st Class Jeff Trigg who just received the Order of St. Michael Medal for emboding courage, justice, gallantry and representing excellence in aviation.
