Dudney addresses Macon Volunteers

Georgia Army Guard Brig. Gen. Larry Dudney – now director of the Georgia Department of Defense Joint Staff – addresses a crowd of more more than 600 well-wishers who gathered in front of Macon City Hall in March 2009 to say their farewells to the Georgia Army Guardsmen departing for Afghanistan during the departure ceremony for those assigned to Combined Task Force Phoenix IX and those going with Georgia’s 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Dudney commanded Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix IX and was director of the Afghan National Security Forces Development Assistance Bureau in Kabul from 2009 to 2010. Seated behind him are then Brig. Gen. Maria L. Britt, Georgia Army Guard Commander, and several Macon city officials and state legislators, who also came to pay their respects to the brigade and the Macon Volunteers.
