The 78th HRF Begins a New Homeland Security Mission
Clay National Guard Center, April 5, 2011 – Capt. William Parker, the new Security Force Planner with the Georgia Army National Guard’s 78th Homeland Response Force, works on operational plans in preparation for an upcoming training mission.
“My primary responsibility is to provide the operational planning for the 1st of the 214th Field Artillery Battalion.”
The 214th is the first responder in a nuclear disaster. They oversee all security and logistical functions for the Georgia Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive Response Force Package, also known as the JTF 781 CERFP.
“My soldiers in the 1-214th provide Command and Control for any and all CERFPs to assist in Decontamination of any contaminated victims in the event of a nuclear disaster,” said Capt. Parker.
