Troop prepares for mission in Kosovo
CLAY NATIONAL GUARD CENTER, April 5, 2011 – Bravo Troop of 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry, prepares itself for deployment to Kosovo this month in support of the KFOR (Kosovo Forces) mission headed by the Army National Guard.
“As of right now, we are planning and training for our mobilization to Kosovo with numerous training activities,” said Sgt. Brandon Denmark, the training NCO of Bravo Troop.
Many of these training activities include land navigation lanes, close quarters battle training, convoy operations, M9 pistol training, and tactical driving courses.
Bravo Troop is mobilizing as a part of an entire Battalion mobilization for 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry, to Kosovo. The mission in Kosovo is to aid in gathering intelligence to bolster a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Kosovo.
The soldiers of Bravo Troop will leave for Camp Atterbury, Ind., for pre-mobilization training in September for a one-year deployment.
