HAZMAT exercise in Cobb County

MARIETTA, Ga., Feb. 10, 2010 – Members from Cobb County’s Hazard Material Team (HAZMAT) take part in National Guard training where a simulated terrorist attack took place near the county’s Public Safety Village. This training is part of the state’s readiness response program where Guard units work with local police and fire departments to counter simulated hostile attack against the population.

Georgia's Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive (CBRNE) Response Force Package, also known as the JTF 781 CERFP, took part in the training by working with local authorities to provide medical and decontamination assistance to role-playing injured civilians.
