Maj. Anson Evans receives Bronze Star
ATLANTA, June 29, 2010 – Georgia Army Guard Maj. Anson Evans, with the Joint Forces Headquarters state inspector General Office, is presented the Bronze Star Medal by Maj. Gen. Terry Nesbitt, Georgia’s Adjutant General, during the opening of the 2010 Southeast Regional Inspector General’s Conference.
Evans received the medal for his exceptional service in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as deputy inspector general for Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix from June 2009 to March 2010.
The Bronze Star is a U.S. Armed Forces individual military decoration. It can be awarded for bravery, acts of merit or meritorious service. When awarded for bravery, the medal is the fourth-highest combat award. It is the ninth highest military award – including both combat and non- combat awards – in the order of precedence of U.S. military decorations.
