May 2010 International Aviation Symposium
DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Marietta, May 3, 2010 – Georgia Army Guard Chief Warrant Officer 2 Tim Rikard (center), aviation maintenance supervisor for 171st Aviation, 78th Aviation Troop Command, explains how the Army and the Guard electronically keep records and order supplies for their aircraft. Those listening are Middle East and Southwest Asia pilots, maintenance officers and maintenance chiefs.
Among the countries represented by the group were Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Pakistan and Oman. The group came to the 171st as part of the May 2010 International Aviation Symposium hosted Third Army. The group saw demonstrations on how Army aviation conducts a “hot wash,” for refueling and re-arming aircraft and got a tour of a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter set for evacuating casualties from a battlefield or disaster site.
