vegetarian duck bento

    Newer Older

simple quick bento tonight with leftover thai food and veggies from the fridge. why do i always turn to thai when i'm working late? i have no idea, but i do. and this week i have enjoyed seeing everyone else's bentos, but haven't been inspired (or had much time) to do my own.

anyway, i'm getting back on the wagon with some vegetarian basil duck (with red peppers and onions), white rice with black sesame seeds, takuwan and sweet potato flowers, veggie section of broccoli, shimeji mushrooms, yellow wax beans and purple cauliflower, and fruit section of kiwi slice, apple section, plum fan, green grapes, and black grapes with a leaf food pick (yes those are grapes, not olives!).

Welcome back, and with a bright and colorful bento too! I had to read twice to make sure that peach flower was sweet potato; on my monitor it looks pastel, kind of like cantaloupe. Looks yummy, and this is a good box to keep the Thai sauce separate. Nice!

I like the mushroom. Fungus among us.

Yay for leftovers. *raises both hands* I'm right there with you sister.

Doesn't matter, your bento boxes are always pretty and delicious looking.

Hee hee from the title vegetarian duck, when I saw the upper right corner I thought the flowers were arranged to be a (slightly surprised looking?) yellow duck with orange bill . . . clearly that's not the duck section after all ;-) Looks very appetizing; your fridge must look like a farmer's market, you always have so much variety!

Om nom nom, looking good ! I agree with ehmeelu on the market fridge comment : you always seem to have an unlimited supply of healthy appetizing foods waiting to jump into your bento. And who could blame them : I would be a proud veggie too in this bento :o)

Vibrant and fresh as always! I liked Ceinwyn13's description of your bentos looking like healthy foods have just jumped in them--they have a great sense of color and vitality!
