Nikon Mamiya Minolta - Oh! bring back the days of film.....

    Newer Older

Don't you miss the hours spent in the darkroom, processing film and developing prints....I certainly do! Digital photography has changed the art of photography so certainly has levelled the playing field... Try putting these in your pocket..

Kodak Brownie, Zenith B and then the fabulous Pentax KX was my route. Would have loved a Mamiya! Yes ... loved the darkroom too. Nice kit Gordon...

Hey Gord, film camera are still out there. Why don't you give it a go. ;-) The only reason I'm in this game is because of the relatively low cost of digital. The old fashioned way was to cost prohibitive for me at least.

Cool gear Gordon! I used to experiment with my non-digital Pentax SLR, but the film/developing costs made me broke! I like your filters, I am always throwing a warming or cooling filter on my image in Photoshop, but these are the real thing!

Nikon F3 was my dream camera long time ago, after i became rich form working, LOL. so i decided to have a profffinal camera, my choice came down to three models the F3, Leica R5 and Olympus OM4.

finally i went for the OM4 thought the fact that it has a multi spot metering and shadow/highlight control makes it a better, beside it is much reasonable in it price. not to forget that the camera i got that time was also Olympus OM2N with three Zuiko lenses. the OM4 is still with me along with a super fast Zuiko 50mm/f 1.2 macro lens. have to dig them out.

thanks for bringing all those beautiful memories of the good old flim camera days.

BTW the resolution of the DSLR until now is nothing to what one can get form films like vilvia fuji chrome, or Kodachrome 64.

Yep those were the days when you actually needed to understand a lot more about the physics of photography. For those of us that did, those skills are still behind the digital process even with all the short cuts available.

What cool looking gear! I only got into photography when digital started to go mainstream. I missed out on owning and using some of these beauties!

Lovely shot Gordon, I know a few photographers who are going back to film for the quality of the shots.

Lovely presentation of your gear Gordon. On the plus side digital is so non time consuming you get more time to get out and get more photos and it's so much cheaper. I remember leaving in rollls and rools of film to get a few good shots Very expensive Ouch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs Tess.
