27-30 September 2018

Gerrit Rietveld, Bob Bonies, Thomas Trum, Lily van der Stokker, Tijmen Smeulders, Andre Volten, Pieter Vandermeer

In 1923 the Juryfreie Kunstschau took place in Berlin. Gerrit Rietveld submitted a scale model of a chair for this competition. Just like his most famous design The Rietveld / Schroder house (1924) in Utrecht the chair has white, gray and black planes and lines. This sculpture became famous and was named "Berlin chair".
Galerie VIVID is proud to be admitted for the first time to the prestigious Kunstschau: The Art Berlin.
Vivid is also proud to present 95 years later, prominently and possible for the first time in Berlin (!), the Rietveld chair in full size. It is a beautiful rare copy, made in the fifties by the furniture maker of Rietveld.
In addition to this work by Rietveld, a large abstract work from 1979 by Bob Bonies will hang on the back wall of the VIVID booth. This work consists of two blue rectangles and one red rectangle.
The emerging artist Thomas Trum will make a blue mural for the left wall. On top of this mural will hang two recent paintings, 1 red and 1 blue. These three artists will give a picture of almost 100 years of Dutch culture and will undoubtedly impress the German public.
VIVID will also shows a works by Lily van der Stokker, Tijmen Smeulders, Andre Volten and Pieter Vandermeer
