9th Commemoration for the Families Completely Wiped out in the Genocide Against the Tutsi | Rubavu, 27 May 2017
GAERG, a Rwandan graduates Genocide survivors organisation held commemoration event for families completely wiped out in the Genocide against Tutsi. This event took place in Rubavu District on Saturday 27 May 2017.

A completely wiped out family is a family whose members were entirely killed, with no survivor to continue the family line. Since 2009, the families are remembered under the theme, “You Will Never Be Forgotten While I Am Still Alive”.

From 2009 to date, GAERG has identified 7,797 families whose 34,823 members have been identified in 17 districts. The target is to cover all 30 districts of Rwanda.
